After the storm there is calm

This is Ralphie found by rescuers , someone had already taken him under their wing but not able to adopt him. He joined the rescuers instead.

This little lady also survived that wreckage. Here she is just placed in the car - scared, but safe.

And then...they are no longer alone!    Instant friends, they comforted each other while in the car.

Add two more beagles found after that...   The more, the merrier!

Oh boy, a new traveler to add to the mix...   (note: the cat coming over the seat needing shelter...)

Now just how is this going to work??? (and remember they are all strangers to one another  )

It's going to work just fine, thank you very much!

Wow!  The things we  can learn from our animal friends..
'It's just good to be alive and with others.'

Meet Faith

Picture
Picture
Faith was born 2002 on Christmas eve, he was born with just two legs. He was rejected by his mother and not able to walk. His first owner also had doubts whether he will survive and contemplated to put him to sleep. His new owner Jude Stringfellow became determined to teach him to walk and take care of him. She name him Faith!
In the beginning she placed him on a surfboard to let him fell the movement. As time passed she placed peanut butter on a spoon to lure and reward him for standing up and jumping around. Jude's  old dog encouraged him to walk as well. Amazingly only after six months , Faith learned to balance on his hind legs and jump to move forward. After further training in the snow, he could now walk like a human. Faith loves to walk now.

No matter where he goes he always attracts people to him. He is fast becoming famous on the international scene with appearances on various newspapers and TV shows. There is now a book entitled " With a little Faith" being published about him. He was even considered to appear in a Harry Potter movie. Jude has given up her teaching post and plans to take Faith around the world to teach that even without a perfect body, one can have a perfect soul!

In life there are always undesirable things, so in order to feel better you just need to look at life from another perspective. Faith is the continual demonstration of the strength and wonder that life has to offer.

Angel the Super dog

Picture
Dog Saves 11-Year-Old Boy from Cougar Attack APRIL 29, 2010
By Laura T. Coffey, MSNBC
When a hungry cougar came calling, an 11-year-old boy named Austin Forman had Angel on his side.It happened on a dark Sunday evening in British Columbia, Canada, when Austin went outside to collect wood for his family's wood-burning furnace. He noticed that Angel, his happy-go-lucky golden retriever, was acting much more cautious and guarded than usual. Within moments, a cougar tried to pounce on Austin from less than 10 feet away. Angel jumped directly into the big cat's path and bore the brunt of the attack instead."She was my best friend, but now she's even greater to me. She's more than a best friend now," Austin said after the attack, which almost certainly would have killed Angel if a local police constable hadn't managed to shoot the cougar. The 18-month-old dog had surgery to repair extensive injuries to her head. "I was just lucky my dog was there, because it happened so fast I wouldn't have known what hit me," Austin said. "I bought her a big, nice juicy steak."

Whale Conservation

Picture
How inspiring would it be to watch the magnificent Grey whale in its Canadian summer feeding areas and experiences the beautiful natural environment  what is the Clayoquot Sound off the west coast of Vancouver Island to help researchers design better ways to protect these magnificent animals. The duration of the expedition is 7 - 13 days during July, August and September , staying in a hostel in the village of Ahoushat on Flores island. Your days will be spent on the water in sea- kayaks or converted fishing boats searching for the whales and map their feeding prey with underwater cameras and sonar. Earth Watch is the charity, a non for-profit organisation which  helps make the expedition reality. Funds are urgently need for the research of the whales and for this reason the cost of participating on a Earth Watch expedition is called a contribution. The contribution is anywhere between $2250 - $3250 and participants are encouraged to donate more if able to as all the funds are towards the continued research of the Grey whale.
